NPR’s Marketplace Tech segment on “Why Digital Archiving Is More Than Store And Ignore,” featuring an interview with Digital Bedrock’s CEO, Linda Tadic

Marketplace’s Stephanie Hughes continues her interview with Linda, who discusses basic aspects of digital preservation, why you should regularly maintain your digital media, and shares success stories as a digital archivist. In particular, she describes Digital Bedrock’s forensic analysis of obsolete LTO-3 data tapes holding digitized audio recordings dating from the 1950s-1980s from WIPR, the public broadcasting station in Puerto Rico. The successfully restored files can now be heard on the American Archive of Public Broadcasting’s website.
