WHAT WE DO
Keeping digital content usable is a complex and ongoing process. At Digital Bedrock, we future-proof your files so they remain available and playable when you need them. By identifying long-term vulnerabilities, we create complex metadata about an asset’s characteristics and dependencies, and monitor its health over time through scheduled, bit-level fixity checks.
We offer offline redundancy on LTO tape in three geographically separated locations, and migrate your assets as new storage media becomes available.
OUR SERVICES
Through our file analysis, we run virus scans, verify and create checksums, validate formats, extract technical and embedded metadata, and create preservation metadata.
Our clients have a secure, dedicated online portal to search for digital content being preserved at Digital Bedrock. While we are not a cloud-based file access service, we make it easy for you to find and track your assets as needed.
ONGOING OFFERINGS
Your files are stored offline for security, but we check them annually to verify there has been no bit loss. Data will be migrated to new LTO generations over time.
PHYSICAL SECURITY
Our physical security is robust: access to our racks requires passing through six layers of security, including biometric scanners.

Digital Bedrock can work with clients in the European Union and the United Kingdom. In July 2024, our self-certification to the US Dept of Commerce Data Privacy Framework (DPF) means that we can receive data from those regions. See our DPF policy here.
